How to cook Boil-The-Bag Peanuts
The easiest way to make boiled peanuts at home.
Items Needed
- 1 gallon water
- Unopened bag of peanuts
- A slow cooker (Crock-pot), stock pot, or Instant Pot - (6-8 qt recommended)
Preparation (Slow Cooker or Stock Pot)
- Add 1 gallon of water to pot (enough for bag to fully submerge once cooked). May add water during the cook to account for evaporation/absorption.
- Place unopened bag in water (bag will float, stamp on bag dissolves)
- Cover and cook on Hi to Med-Hi, maintaining a slow boil (min. 10-12 hours for either method)
- Flip bag over every 2-4 hours, as able, to ensure peanuts re-hydrate evenly
- Reduce to Low once bag has completely submerged and allow to soak for additional flavor and tenderness (2-4 hours...or longer)
- Remove bag from pot, Drain and Enjoy. (Caution: BAG WILL BE HOT!)
Preparation (Instant Pot)
- Add water to “max fill” line
- Place unopened bag of peanuts in water (bag will float, stamp will dissolve)
- Seal lid, set steam release to "Do Not Vent" and pressure cook on Hi for 4 hours
- Allow Instant Pot to naturally depressurize. Remove lid and check water level. Add water if bag is not completely covered. Replace lid and soak for another 2-4 hours (or longer until desired tenderness is reached)
- Remove bag from pot, Drain and Enjoy. (Caution: BAG WILL BE HOT!)
My “lazy” method: Add 1 gallon of water to slow cooker a couple hours before bed. Place unopened bag of peanuts in water. Cover and cook on Hi. Flip the bag before going to bed and keep on Hi all night. Reduce to Low in morning. Around lunchtime, remove bag from slow cooker, drain, and enjoy. "Lazy" method is for slow cooker only.

These peanuts are fantastic! It takes me back to summers visiting my grandma in South Georgia growing up! We used to buy them fresh from the farm and take them home and boil them up! Now living in Arizona, the ability to get these delivered to my door and have that authentic taste of southern boiled peanuts is amazing!
My husband was purchasing the boil in the bag peanuts from Ingles. His daughter lives across the country and was missing boiled peanuts. We had a sample pack mailed to her and she loves it.
I love these peanuts. I boiled on stove about 2.5 hours and they were awesome. Definitely will buy more. I am from Ohio and my granny had peanuts in her garden here. Cooking and eating these brought so many memories.
These are so awesome! I messed up the first batch a bit by honestly just not reading all the directions before I started lol. But these brought me back to the south while living in a area that thinks boiled peanuts is a southern myth, truly a great memory and delicious if you follow the instructions ;)

Peanuts in the bag, is sooo much easier to make than putting together the ingredients needed to make them from scratch. Just as good, with almost no work needed.

I love these! I first had boiled peanuts in Florida at one of those huge garage sale type places where it’s acres of different stuff and the boiled peanuts in my mind was the best part of it all! I was 14, lol. Now I’m almost 50, been eating the Walmart canned ones cause that’s all I could find and yall, ain’t no comparison! Finding y'all online was just wonderful! I got ours in fast, no issues, packaging was great, and man, we feasted on those peanuts! I’m saving a bag for a family get together and it’s killing me! So easy and delicious… I put them in over night and rotate when I wake up & they turned out perfect! Made my whole house smell delicious! Tried the cajun ones but plan on making the garlic & onion tonight… which I know will be good! Can’t wait to order more!

I bought some on a whim one day because they were on sale. I am a SC girl and love the red skinned peanuts...not those white mushy peanuts. They were delicious!! We even took some with us to WA State and they were a huge hit!! We will be buying more!

The way we found out about your peanuts my wife’s cousin who lives in Washington State wanted to get his dad some and he had no clue on how to make them ! So I was going to call and try and teach him over the phone but then I saw you guys on google and tired them and we feel in love with the way yall did it ! So we ordered again some for us and sent some to her cousin! He should get them on Monday just in time for his dad’s birthday on Tuesday! His dad grew up in Athens Ga ! Thank yall again for such a great product! We order peanut brittle but it didn’t make it yet ! Not sure why but I know yall will make it Right !
